Finding a place to call home is an exciting part of beginning graduate studies, and many great housing options are available in the Hamden and North Haven areas for students
looking to rent.

Connecting with other incoming students is also a great way to explore housing opportunities and meet potential roommates. Accepted students can access the current semester’s WhatsApp group through the International Q‑Start portal to start building community and sharing housing leads.

Off-Campus Housing Resources

Quinnipiac partners with JumpOffCampus, a trusted private company, to give students a convenient central platform for discovering off‑campus housing options.

If you are exploring off‑campus housing for the first time or simply looking for helpful tips, JumpOffCampus offers an excellent Learning Center with a step‑by‑step tutorial and a wide range of resources to guide you through the U.S. off‑campus housing search.

More Resources When Renting

  • In My Area: A guide for internet, TV and utility services in the area

  • Rental Insurance: Reviews.com guide to best rental insurance in the area

  • Transportation at Quinnipiac: Shuttle, parking, and bicycle information for Quinnipiac students

  • CT Transit: Schedules, routes, and fare information about CT Transit, the public bus system in Connecticut. The site also offers a "Plan your Trip" feature.

Temporary Housing

Quinnipiac does not offer temporary housing. Students arriving in the U.S. may decide to stay in a hotel or temporary housing before arranging permanent off-campus housing or moving on campus.

Quinnipiac provides a list of hotels and places to stay on our Explore the Area page.  Incoming international students can refer to their Q-Start pre-arrival checklist, which includes airport‑area hotel options and information on booking discounted rates at select local hotels close to Quinnipiac's campus. Temporary accommodation may also be found at any Airbnb or Vrbo listings in the area.
