Student Experience, Programs and Orientation

The Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) hosts a variety of engaging student programs to help you make the most of your student experience. You have the chance to connect with fellow students through our various programs, build intercultural understanding, and celebrate the richly diverse student body at Quinnipiac University.

Global Partners Program

The Global Partners Program is a peer support program for new international students at Quinnipiac. Leaders in the Global Partners Program are current international and domestic students that connect with new international students to support them in their transition to the U.S. and QU. The Global Partners provide advice, friendship, and mentorship to new international students as they begin their studies at Quinnipiac.  To learn more about the Global Partners Program, please contact oiss@qu.edu

International Student Orientation & Welcome Events

Each semester, international students attend a comprehensive orientation designed to familiarize them with Quinnipiac resources, introduce academic policies, address cultural adjustment and inform students about their immigration responsibilities and requirements. New students also participate in social events and welcome activities to get to know their fellow classmates from around the world.

Thanksgiving Host Program

The OISS is proud to organize the Thanksgiving Host Program for international students. Thanksgiving is traditionally a time for U.S. Americans to be with their family and to be thankful for all that they have. We encourage international students to take advantage of this opportunity to share in the U.S. American traditional celebration of appreciation with a Quinnipiac faculty or staff member. Participants in the past have found it to be a fun and engaging way to exchange ideas and customs. It can also be a pleasant occasion to experience first-hand how Americans celebrate their holidays. The OISS will send emails prior to the holiday with more information.

International Student Advisory Board

The mission of the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) is to give international students at Quinnipiac a platform to share their experiences with the university and advocate for their needs to ensure a vibrant and inclusive campus experience for all students. The ISAB is a diverse group of international students expected to think critically, ask difficult questions, perform research and analysis, engage in dialogue, work with a myriad of cultures, and promote advocacy.
